Statement from the Indiana Restaurant & Lodging Association

INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 21, 2019) – The Indiana Restaurant and Lodging Association issues the following statement regarding the passage of Senate Bill 12:

“On Monday, leaders of the hospitality industry shared deep, personal stories as to why these classes should be protected. Only to find that the next day, those classes were eviscerated from the bill on the Senate floor. Indiana’s Hospitality Community is committed to making all feel welcome and ask that the legislature follows what the Governor, business community, faith organizations and 74 percent of Hoosiers have already asked for.”

The Indiana Restaurant & Lodging Association represents more than 1,800 hotel and restaurant properties as well as industry-related service companies. It is these members that help make the hospitality industry the nation's largest private sector employer and one of the state’s most politically active and public service-oriented industries. Our members are the cornerstone of the Indiana community and the backbone of our state’s economy.
